The Nature of the service
The service includes the movement and the distribution of books, daily newspapers, periodicals, and microfilms.
These operations entail, in essence, the automatic withdrawal of books requested by readers from the library tower.
The TOWER is the only building in Italy (and the second in Europe after a similar tower in Bordeaux) designed and constructed in the period 1996-97 as a completely automated book storage area.
Conditions of use of the service
The service is available to users over 18 years of age.
The reader must show his entrance form, which must be correctly filled in; the form is returned on the return of the book borrowed.
How to use the service
Readers can consult the on-line OPAC catalogue directly through the terminals placed at the disposal of the public.
Customers can key in their requests by filling in the on-screen form provided by the computer programme.
Two works can be ordered at a time, up to to a maximum of four volumes, and it is perfectly acceptable to submit a series of requests provided the previous books ordered have been brought back.
We remind readers that it is expressly forbidden, on pain of withdrawal of the service, to underline or otherwise damage materials in their care. Readers in receipt of material should check the condition of the texts, and in their own interests and those of the material, immediately inform the staff of any hitherto unnoticed damage.
