Periodical and academic proceedings

Click to enlarge image The Periodicals Section of the University Library boasts more than 10,000 titles, ranging from the first literary and political gazzettes of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries through the proceedings of Italian and overseas academies and institutions, up to modern and contemporary magazines on historical, literary and scientific topics. The section traces its origins back to around 1930, with the construction of the storage rooms designed to hold newspapers, official publications, academic proceedings and magazines, and the creation of a special index card catalogue, distinct from the conventional catalogue for authors and titles.
